Message to the year 52.006
Don't forget
Aerton Guimarães
Fifty thousand years have past. How many incredible and unexpected changes are visible now. Well, I'll start talking a little bit of myself to you understand what is happening.
Fifty thousand years have past. How many incredible and unexpected changes are visible now. Well, I'll start talking a little bit of myself to you understand what is happening.
My name is Aerton and I used to live in Brazil, the largest country in Latin America. I'm writing this letter in february of 2006. As I didn't know wich language would still be known in the future, I decided to write it in English, which is considered the global language by the last few years. Although my mother language is the Portuguese, I believed that in the future it would be like Latin is nowadays (many people say it's the "dead" idiom), and that's the reason for writing in other language.
The last years have been so difficult for us. In the nineteen hundreds we passed by two World Wars and the beginning of strong hostilities between the muslin people and the countries commanded by the United States.
What might have happened? Did our childrem or even grandchildren fight in the third World War? How long people had to soffer to understand that nothing of this was necessary?
Nevertheless, simple things were always forgotten by people. You, who live in the future, can't forget these moments. They are responsible by our relaxing time and the ones when we think about the life.
How would it be like if the rain hadn't arrived on that hot day? Try to feel the water by your feet. Don't forget how wonderful is being refreshed by clean water. Take a moment for yourself and close your eyes. Just listen to the wind in a sunny day. How spectacular is the reflect of the sun on the small drops of water lying on the leaves of the trees. Or just seeing the blue ocean in a beautiful beach. Remember the taste of a brand new fruit, that you've just taken from the tree.
The nature has so much to offer us, as so as the human kind. Pay attention on the other people's acts. Recognize the small, although important things that they can do for you. A fast glance, a strong hug and even a naïve kiss of someone you like, can make all the difference.
Don't forget to talk with a friend about stupid things, just to have fun. Silly laughs are necessary to make us happier. Some feelings are crucial too. Feel the nervosism in a recent relationship. Feel the passion, the love, the happiness, the loneliness, the melancholy, the pain and the relief.
Enjoy the family moments. The mother's care for you, the quarrels with your brother, the disapproving look of your father at you and the incredible grandmother's stories…
Don't forget the main reason we're alive: our freedom. It let us dream and also permit us to look at the sky and see different cloud shapes. And really don't forget: enjoy everything you've got and just live, because this is the moment, this is your only life

PS: I will translate the reason why I wrote this text in English cause some of my friends didn't like my atitude...
